City of Sunderland and Goodman

MIPIM concert


In conjunction with the City of Sunderland, goodman has staged
music concerts at MIPIM since 2004, in order to raise the profile of the continually expanding Rainton Bridge Business park. For 2008, RE:EVENTS were once again contracted and given the task of delivering an event to surpass all that had gone before. RE:EVENTS sourced and proposed several alternatives from which the client chose Squeeze, the popular 80s band whose hits such as Up The Junction, Cool For Cats and Labelled With Love gained them huge chart success and a global following.

To add an extra dimension, RE:EVENTS also booked progrock and storytelling legend Rick Wakeman to perform a 30-minute set. RE:EVENTS dealt directly with Rick Wakeman and managed all negotiations with Squeeze's management company to ensure that all technical and personal requirements were met.

The result was a seamless production from the first notes played on Rick Wakeman's keyboard to Squeeze's roof-raising encore. the evening was attended by over 1,700 MIPIM delegates and was by far the biggest and most talked about event of that year's exhibition.
